What a darling spot - The Screening Room is a gem with great snacks, seltzers and a really perfect selection of movies. Some very special films that you think might only be shown in Cambridge or Boston make it to Newburyport through the care and curation of the sweet couple who run this theater. We go as often as we can and it’s never enough - I would go every week if I could!

Visiting Newburyport and decided to hop in and watch a movie here, and so happy I did. I’m so glad that local cinemas such as these still exist. As a cinephile, nothing beats it.

so glad i stumbled upon the screening room! one night i was searching for a less-popular new film to watch and now i am in love with this place. it’s a very nice theater in downtown Newburyport, one of my favorite places to visit. there is a pub next door with good clam chowder.
We live in NBPT, cherishing this place. Very lucky to have such a gem to enjoy movies. It's an absolutely adorable intimate theater worthy of support. There's always an entertaining personality manning the ticket booth, all around one person show. The sound and screen are just right too. Also get in a good assortment of films.
